Elevator Consulting

To ensure unbiased opinions, we do elevator consulting, inspections and expert witnessing only, and do not perform any elevator service or repair work. The following consulting services are available:

Assessments:
Our elevator assessment includes a thorough examination of the elevator equipment and the production of a comprehensive bound report. This report typically contains: a general description of the equipment, the condition of the equipment, average life expectancies and estimated remaining useful life of the individual components, ADA compliance, the level of maintenance being performed, and current performance levels compared to original specifications or recommended standards and system capabilities. Performance comparisons of multiple units would be provided. Deficiencies in code compliance, safety, or maintenance will be noted. Recommendations on adjustments necessary to improve performance, as well as recommended modernizations, replacements or upgrades will be made. A sample or our typical report format is available upon request.

Modernization Consulting:
Specifications for modernization work can be produced based on information obtained in the Elevator Assessment Report. We work with the elevator owner to determine the extent of work to be performed, and to select invited bidders. The specifications can be provided directly or incorporated into a complete “Request For Proposal” (RFP) for obtaining bids from elevator contractors.

Project Management:
We can also facilitate a pre-bid meeting with invited bidders, assist in the determination of the best bid obtained, hold a pre-construction meeting, check job progress, approve draw requests, and perform final code and specification compliance inspections.

Plan Review:
Review plans and specifications for code compliance and assist in resolution of problems with building design and proposed equipment.

Construction Inspections:
On-site equipment examination to verify code compliance and provide assistance with resolving issues which require rectifying.
